I've learned that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it
250 kilometers of rough country footrace, over seven days, carrying all the equipment and food you need, in some of the most remote and culturally rich locations of the world.
This is “Racing the Planet” CLICK HERE TO HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR ANN'S RACE

The Race brings together in one event an international field of competitors from over 35 countries, each with their own unique cultural diversity and objectives united under a common goal to raise money for charity in one of the world’s top endurance competitions.
Since deciding to take part in the 2010 “Racing the Planet”, which will be held in the beautiful Kimberly region of Western Australia, I have been asked myself …. Why?
In summary the Race, combines two amazing elements for me of personal challenge, and most importantly to document and contribute to improving the lives of ethnic minorities and tribes and encouraging people to fund raise for personally selected charities.

My name is Ann Elisabeth Grotteland and I fell in love with the concept of “Racing the Planet” and certainly Australia when I move here from Norway in 2007.
Racing the Planet is my goal and I would like to invite people to join me by contributing to my charity which supports women who are impacted by domestic violence or have been abused in some way.
I have a personal story that exposed me to a life threatening situation some years ago and I know how hard it is for women to get strong enough to put their lives back together in a meaningful way and enjoy life again.
This is one of the hardest and longest races in the world; however is still nothing like the distances that many women like me have travelled in order to enjoy the basic right to a happy and healthy life again.
The Global Good Foundation realises the importance of providing individuals with a platform big enough to reach people and address issues such as mine … Personally I have never attempted a race this big before and I am aware of the hard work in front of me to get fit enough mentally and physically to be able to complete in this race.
I believe the passion I have for this event and the goal to reach out to women along the way will keep me motivated through the training period to complete the race and if I reach even just one woman and she sees the bright future as I do today, every step I take will be worth it.
Will you join me?
